be patient.

Endurance sport, especially ultra-endurance events which are my specialty, take time to complete, but they also take time to prepare for. Being patient in the early part of races, as well as through your preparation, will see you make the greatest gains over time. Don’t be a hero in one segment of a race, or on one training session, rather take a step back and see what will allow you to have the best overall performance on the the day. It’s this day in an day out consistency in training, as well as the consistency across an event that will see you achieve your best results. This takes patience to apply, which can be frustrating at the time, but it’s more than worth it in the long run and we all know how much I enjoy long runs…
