B78 Overview

Who creates B78 programs?

B78 is powered by Jasper Blake.  Jasper has been one of Canada’s most reputable endurance athletes for the past two decades.  His accomplishments are numerous including an Ironman title and dozens of professional wins as a triathlete.  He has competed nationally and globally as a runner, cyclist, swimmer and multisport athlete.  From the year 2000 to the year 2011 Jasper never finished worse than 5th in an Ironman with the exception of one race in 2001

 

Jasper spent the better part of his teenage years competing nationally as a downhill skier.  In 1993 he moved to Toronto to pursue a career in tennis and in 1994 he received a full scholarship to play tennis for the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay, an NCAA division 1 school.

 

Jasper moved back to Canada in 1995 and enrolled at the University of Guelph.  Jasper received an honors degree in Human Kinetics at the University of Guelph in 2000.  During this time he competed on the University of Guelph swimming and running teams and was an Academic All Canadian in 2000.

 

Jasper brings over twenty five years of real life experience to the programs and creates a structure that is easy to understand and makes sense.

 

B78 programs are designed to be simple but extremely effective.  Training needs to be on purpose, goal driven and deliberate.  B78 programs are designed around Jasper’s philosophy of gradually building up your fitness and tolerance for the work while allowing smart recovery so your body can actually adapt and get stronger.  Training is not rocket science.  Training is about the ability to consistently work hard in a targeted way that addresses the specific needs of a desired outcome.  Improvement happens when we stress the body and allow it to recover.

 

The goal is to get you to the start line with the confidence to reach your goal, be it time based or to simply “get across the finish line”.

Do B78 programs work for all different levels of athlete?

Yes B78 programs work for all levels of athlete.  We use a combination of athlete specific pace workouts and workouts that are based on effort so no matter who you are you will always be training at your own level.
